Newborn sessions may be done indoor in a studio style setting, in your home or outdoors. Maternity sessions may be outdoor or in your home.

Lucky Lane offers wedding & event services tailored to fit your individual needs and wishes. From hourly services that may suit smaller events to full day packages. Hourly services begin at $275/hr; full day services begin at approx. $2550

do you travel out of area?
Lucky Lane is based in Fredericksburg, Virginia and considers many of the surrounding areas & counties to be "local"; travel throughout Virginia, North Carolina and other neighboring states may also be possible ~ if you have a location in mind, please inquire! Lucky Lane recently offered beach sessions in the OBX and hopes to return there again in Summer of 2021!
Do you utilize a second photographer?
All images featured on this website are the sole work of the owner/photographer behind Lucky Lane. This ensures that the final product you receive, is the work, quality and style advertised. However, there may be times a second photographer is needed for more thorough coverage; such as the event of larger weddings, a second photographer may be added at an additional cost if needed or desired.
What if I need to reschedule... someone isn't feeling well... the weather isn't great?
Life Happens... to us all and seldom perfectly according to plan! If you or anyone in your party is sick- I want you to take care of yourselves! In some cases when photographer is booked back-to-back, rescheduling can be difficult; if a client does not show up to a session and there is no health or severe weather concern- a refund may not be provided. If a session cannot be held at the original date or time intended- Lucky Lane will make a best effort to reschedule at least 1x (more as needed, dependent on circumstances).
A bad hair day ;), "chilly weather" or "a cloudy day" will not be considered as reasons to reschedule your session and photographer will not usually reschedule more than a day in advance for a chance of rain (photographer will work with you to decide what is best; in cases of extreme or more severe weather- safety will be the priority). Varying weather is a part of outdoor photography - sometimes beautiful light or skies result from less than ideal or unexpected circumstances!
Photographer Tip: Cloudy weather actually offers a few advantages and should not be something to feel discouraged about if your day happens to be "less than sunny".
Can I show you my Pinterest board?
I love communicating with clients about their wishes for their images but hopefully if you choose Lucky Lane, it is because you appreciate the style of photography you {already} see here! I am happy to hear about whatever vision you may have for your session but do not want to spend our session trying to recreate another artist's work or taking away from your unique moments! Photography is my art and while we may be able to gain inspiration from something else you've seen, I want to create something personal and special to you during our time.
Can I print my own images freely?
Yes! All Lucky Lane sessions do include edited digital images and release to print and share for personal use. If you choose to share your images on social media, it's always appreciated when you credit Lucky Lane. Any commercial or professional use of Lucky Lane images would require additional permissions.
What if my child doesn't "cooperate"?
Parents commonly express concern or worry that their child may not behave a certain way for a session... please don't. I know that planning photo sessions can feel overwhelming and stressful for parents and in some cases- little ones may feel a lot of the same- it is also not uncommon for children to feel anxious about having their picture taken. These feelings may show in the form of being overly shy or even acting out during our session. Prior to turning my photography from hobby to business, I spent over 10 years working with children & families in the fields of counseling, education and mental health. I also have a degree in Family & Child Development... and I'm a mom, too! I do my best to give children space and time to warm up and will make every effort possible to help everyone feel comfortable and get a final product that you'll love.
